Obituary

William Allen Taylor, 97 years old, formerly of Savoyard, Kentucky, passed away in peace on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at The Medical Center of Caverna surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 04, 1927, to the late George Wesley Taylor and Mary Mageline Taylor. William was a member of Savoyard Baptist Church. His primary occupation was raising tobacco with his brothers. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with others under a maple tree, playing checkers, picking his guitar and chewing tobacco. He is survived by a daughter Rachel Darlene Cook (Scotty) of Horse Cave, KY; two sons Tony Ray Taylor of Somerset, KY and  Rodney Dale Anderson (Bonnie) of Glasgow, KY; a sister-in-law Nellie Taylor of Savoyard, KY; grandchildren Angie Geringswald (Brian) and Abby Hurt (Andy) both of Bowling Green, KY, Joshua Scott Cook (Marieka) of Edmonton, KY, Matthew Tyler Cook (Caleb Miles) and his dog "Cali Wali" of St. Petersburg, FL and Andrew Ryan Cook (Sarah) of Hiseville, KY; great-grandchildren Reid Geringswald, McKenzie Pedigo, Michael Hurt, Aydon Slayton, Annlei Slayton, Holly Nicole Cook, and Kyle Everette Cook and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife Alta Reid Taylor, to whom he will be reunited in eternal rest at Buck Hill Cemetery, siblings Leslie Herbert Taylor, Maybell Taylor, James Ernest Taylor, Lewis Bradford Taylor, Henry Clyde Taylor, and Raymond Leon Taylor. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. that will be officiated by Joe Slayton and Mitchell Poynter, followed by burial at Buck Hill Cemetery.

He will be carried with love by honorary escorts: Andrew Cook, Caleb Miles, Josh Cook, Matt Cook, Rodney Anderson, and Scott Cook.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home to help assist with funeral expenses.
