Donald Ernest Muniz 66, of Edmonton, KY and formally of Los Angeles, CA, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Muniz was born on May 15, 1959, in Los Angeles, CA, to the late Donaciano Muniz and Dixie Joyce Lundy Muniz of Arizona, who survives.
Mr. Muniz was a retired Police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department after 30 years of service. He was very active in 50 plus Bowling League, loved pickleball, 1st month 5k running, avid camper and avid fisherman with his good friend Walter.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Carole Muniz: a son Jason Muniz of Tehachapi, CA: daughter Jamie Carter (Kevin) of England: grandchildren Wesley Kariewicz, Gabe Karkiewicz, Sophie Muniz. Elaina Muniz, Cass Muniz, Benjamin Carter and Daisey Carter: brother, James Muniz (Grace): two sisters, Cindy Guzman (Ernie), Sherri Lucero (Mark Cisneros), mother-in-law, Jo Collins, sisters-in-law Pamela Wilson and Terry Clark (Dewayne) along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son Gregory Allan Muniz.
In honoring Mr. Muniz wishes cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held later in Los Angeles, CA.
Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY is assisting the family with cremation.
