Donald Allen Reece

Donald Allen Reece, age 73, of Edmonton, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville surrounded by his family. He was born December 13, 1950, to the late Ralph Reece and Jeanette (Dillon) Reece and was a member of the Edmonton United Methodist Church. Mr. Reece was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, a teacher and coach at Metcalfe County High School, and a principal at North Metcalfe Elementary. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, and working in his woodworking shop. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Freeda (McIntyre) Reece, his daughter Ashley (Scott) Bailey of Bowling Green, his son, Brian (Stephanie) Reece of Glasgow, and five grandchildren: Anell, Chase, Brey, Bryar, and Breelyn. Also surviving is his sister, Sheryl Reece (Mark) Gossard of Lebanon, TN, and several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service for Donald Allen Reece will be held at the Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home in Edmonton, on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. Thursday, January 18, 2024, and again Friday from 8 A.M. until the service hour. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the D.A.Reece Hornet Athlete Memorial Scholarship. Donations can be made at any Edmonton State Bank location or mailed to P.O.Box 57, Edmonton, KY 42129.
