James William "J.W." Fudge, age 94 of Edmonton, KY, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at Metcalfe County Healthcare. Born on July 18, 1931, in Adair County, KY, J.W. lived a long and fulfilling life, marked by his unwavering dedication to family and friends.
J.W. proudly served in the United States Army, a testament to his commitment to his country. He was an active member of the Edmonton Baptist Church and the Hiseville Masonic Lodge #320, where his contributions were deeply appreciated by all who knew him.
He will be lovingly remembered for his warm demeanor and for spending cherished moments with his family and friends. J.W. is survived by his daughter, Barbara Atkins (Barry) of Lexington, KY; his granddaughter, Ellora McCauley (Dustin) of Lexington, KY; his grandson, Myles Atkins (Elizabeth) of Woodbine, MD; his great grandson, Cade McCauley; and his great granddaughter, Zella Atkins.
Additionally, he leaves behind special friends James Neal England and Rodney Jolly (Anna), who were an integral part of his life.
J.W. was preceded in death by his wife Valera Bennett Fudge, his parents, Garnett and Mayme Parrish Fudge, and sisters Helen Fudge Garrett and Barbara Jean Fudge whose legacy continues through the family he cherished so deeply.
A visitation will be held on February 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home, 35 Old Glasgow Rd, Edmonton, KY 42129. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. After a life well-lived, J.W. will be cremated, as per his wishes.
J.W. Fudge will be greatly missed, his spirit forever a source of strength and inspiration for those fortunate enough to have known him.
