Wandalene Hawkins, 83, of the Sulphur Well Community in Metcalfe County went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Barren County Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Sulphur Well, KY, on February 2, 1943, to the late Maxie and Ruth Robertson Durrett.
Wandalene was a member of Pink Ridge Missionary Baptist Church where she loved attending before her health declined. She also enjoyed cooking and being with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Survivors include two sons, David Hawkins (Amy) and Jimmy Hawkins (Lucy); six grandchildren, Hadlee Hawkins, Daniel Blair, Charlie Hawkins, Lucas Hawkins, Dale Hawkins (Sonya) and Ellen Clarkson (Randy); several great grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Wisdom (Charles) and Connie Hubbard; one brother, Jeff Durrett (Latina); several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Lee Hawkins.
Funeral services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Pink Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow the service in the Pink Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday morning at 11:00AM until time for the service at the church.
